Ben Turner Memorial Exhibition

Ben Turner Memorial Exhibition is a gallery presentation of the late London-based artist and photographer Ben Turner (1980 – 2021). Turner worked across celebrity and street photography, and scanned surfaces wherever he went to capture the kitsch, grit and aberrations in everyday life. The exhibition features photographs from Turner’s personal and professional projects, and international travels as well as a series of panels created during the Covid pandemic.

Turner constantly exposed himself to new environments, new communities and new groups of people, which informed his unique view of the world. He was attracted to the non-conformists, boundary-pushers and counterculture, and was fascinated by the power and influence of dictators and religion.

Turner held a BA and MA from the University of the Arts London: Central Saint Martins, and his work was mainly shown in London.

The Ben Turner Memorial Exhibition is organized by Richard Barnett and Erin Shoji and hung by Dominic Beattie, Eoin Donnelly and Alec Kronacker.
