let London Drawing take you by the hand into the fabulously atmospheric chambers of The Crypt Gallery for a candle lit life drawing session of sensuality and physicality with the gorgeous Anatomie Studio.
In Japanese, “Shibari” simply means “to tie”. The contemporary meaning of Shibari describes an ancient Japanese artistic form of tying the body with rope. Shibari style rigging creates geometric patterns and shapes with rope that contrast beautifully with the body’s flesh.
This is a very intimate and completely immersive drawing experience and a chance to observe the incredibly close relationship between model and rigger, the physcial and emotional experience of the model, the sensuality, vulnerability and strength of the manipulated body and the sheer physicality of the body suspended.
A truly beautiful and unforgettable evening of drawing.
