The Acoustic Tunnel (TAT)

January 10, 2023-6:00 pm - January 14, 2023-6:00 pm

Opening times:

Opening night – 10 January 6pm-10pm

11-14 January 10am-6pm

The Acoustic Tunnel (TAT) is an on-going project exploring the behaviours of insects alongside social histories of Camden Borough during the 20th and 21st centuries. We are reflecting on strategies of resistance in ecology, where diversity helps create collective transformation, and material adaptability is key to maintaining survival. This project explores ways in which Entomological Studies (the study of insects) can teach us different ways of engaging with local histories. We are informing our project from looking at local Camden community gardens centres, parks, and natural spaces in housing for residents.

Looking at insects in the urban landscape may offer new lenses through which to consider our own built environment. With a focus on metamorphosis and repair, we can find new ways of seeing materials, bodies, and labour through time. We are considering, in particular, the importance of housing and technologies in forming social interactions.
