Project description:

This project is a demonstration of Curio, a project designed and developed in terms of MArch of Design for Performance and Interaction, Bartlett, UCL.

Curio is a shadow and sound project aiming to trigger people’s curiosity to encourage their instincts of exploration and discovery. Our goal is to make people passionately curious about their environment because this is the key to perceptiveness, sharpness of mind, engagement, immersion and activity. Shadows and everyday sounds are ubiquitous but usually underestimated. We bring these environmental elements to the fore and create enhanced, altered and novel experiences in unexpected places.

By implementing subtle sound and shadow installations in public spaces that people usually pass by indifferently, a network of the structures may act as a new architectural layer in the urban web.
