CRYPT RESIDENCY: KATHERINE WATERS

Katherine Waters is a London-born artist who works with text, audio, moving and still images, and draws upon dance and movement practice. Her artworks invite viewers to consider how different environments, spaces and encounters shape inner landscapes. In acting as mediums through which people can recognise themselves and others newly, they invite examination of the complex and dynamic relations between self, other and society.
Taking as a starting point the replicas of the Erechtheion’s caryatids on the front of the gallery, during the residency, Katherine will be conducting research on care, weight and attention. This will involve reading, moving, writing, and capturing sound and images.
