Voices from the Underground is an exhibition of hand-hammered copper works by Shuanglin Zhu, exploring faith, persecution, resilience and hope.

Drawing on the experiences of underground Christian communities in China, the exhibition reflects on faith lived under pressure and voices that are often hidden from public view.

The exhibition also expresses gratitude for the legacy of Western missionaries who served generations of people in China through education, healthcare and Christian faith.

Through the physical process of repeatedly hammering copper by hand, Zhu transforms pressure and impact into a visual language of endurance, testimony and hope, while inviting reflection on Britain’s Christian heritage and the possibility of spiritual renewal.
