DESCRIPTION:31 May- 1 June\nOpening times:\n31 May: 10am-6pm\n1 June: 10-5pm\nSuggested visiting time: 10am-12am\, or 2pm-4pm due to the change in solar altitude angle\n\nThis exhibition explores the relationship between space\, light and body. The project\, by Yang Yang as part of a research project for the Architectural Association\, is built upon a series of reflective light devices that introduce sunlight gradually into the sleeping crypt space. As visitors navigate through the shadowy space\, the devices are able to catch their movements\, triggering the subtle shifts in the light visibility and density. Through the interplay between space\, light and people\, the historical crypt space becomes a canvas of natural light\, mapping vividly the stories happening in the space.\n\n

Just enough to feel the crunch ricochet and wobble at the back of your throat. We drift from chamber to chamber\, place to place\, odours with bright coloured outlines. Casting thin shadows on low walls and damp cobble stones. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nYou smell the edges of something sweet\, round petals unfurling in your memory. And the fingers of gravel despair\, pulling at your waist.\n\n\n \n\n\nDank air is a reactive environment\, an immersive performance experiment presenting performer and guest as equal through the transfer of shared sensation. Breath\, scent\, touch memory. Intimacy\, viscera\, texture\, ephemera. \n\n\n \n\n\nA live performance by Mab George Sanders and Rob Hesp. \n\n\n \n\n\nThe Crypt gallery\, Euston. 7-9pm. \n\n\n \n\n\nAudience participation is welcome\, but not mandatory. \n\n\n \n\n
