SUMMARY:A ROOM OF ONE'S OWN GIUSEPPE MARIO URSO - THE BLOOMSBURY FESTIVAL
DESCRIPTION:October 14 - 22\n\nTimes: 11am – 2pm daily\n\nIn the main body of St Pancras Church above the Crypt Gallery \n\nFREE – Just turn up\n\n \n\nAn intimate video installation by local artist Giuseppe Mario Urso. The work intertwines space and emotion to create a private place where you can observe St Pancras Church and its surroundings from a different point of view. An immersive video experience that turns an enclosed space into a ‘bird hide’ which then reveals the outside world to the watchers.\n\nInspired by the concept of “liminal space” developed by the anthropologist Arnold van Gennep\, the installation functions as an unconventional device to unlock all the restraints accumulated during the lockdown. A liminal space is a transitional place between spaces – a now between before and after.\n\nPeople crave predictability in their life\, but in a liminal space – like in Urso’s work – any predictability is denied. From the outside\, the room appears to be a tiny cube\, but when inside the installation expands and extends the space beyond its claustrophobic walls.\n\nDon’t miss the chance to step inside this wonder-box and be carried away by the artist.\n\n

SUMMARY:HOW TO RUN AWAY BY LUCY ANDRINA - THE BLOOMSBURY FESTIVAL
DESCRIPTION:THE BLOOMSBURY FESTICAL PRESENTS:\n\n18/ 19 / 20 October\n 9:00 pm - 10:30 pm \n\nThis new play is the dirty\, mucky\, sweaty second-cousin of Eat\, Pray\, Love. Less sun\, sea and sex more sweat\, dust and lust.\n\nAt the start of 2018 everyone died. Lucy left a successful career\, retrained as an English teacher and moved to Egypt. Everyone thought she’d be home within weeks. This one-woman show tells the highs\, lows and life lessons of moving halfway across the world\, as well as one very unexpected new job. Expect laughter\, brutal honesty\, and a ton of belly dancing in the aisles.\n\nWarning: This show will have the Shirley Valentine effect on in-therapy millennials looking for self-inflicted instagrammable trauma. Supported using public funding by Arts Council England.\n\nPresented by Bloomsbury Festival as part of the New Wave programme\, a platform for emerging talent.\n\nTickets: £8 (£6)\n\nMORE INFO AND BOOKING HERE\n\nMORE ABOUT THE BLOOMSBURY FESTIVAL AND WHATS ON HERE

SUMMARY:The Dreamquest of Unknown Kadath - The Bloomsbury Festival
DESCRIPTION:Thursday 19\, Friday 20 October\n\nPerformances: 6:30pm - 7:30pm \n\nThis shadow puppetry performance explores an adventure into perhaps the most peculiar corners of even H P Lovecraft’s imagination\, read to the accompaniment of shadow puppetry and a live theremin soundtrack. Watch out for space cats.\n\nThis event is part of the Bloomsbury Festival\n\nMiranda Carter dreams of a glittering city… but to visit it could mean giving up her sanity. Can she find the city of Unknown Kadath? A friendly army of cats is willing to help. T L Wiswell has adapted a work so peculiar – by even H P Lovecraft’s standards – that shadow puppetry is perhaps the only way it could be staged. Sam Enthoven provides live accompaniment on theremin and other sonic contraptions. Renowned performer Jim Osman will read. Join us for a wild adventure into the outer reaches of the imagination. “Spell-binding narration… inspired use of shadow puppetry… a soundtrack like being held by a cat that simultaneously wants to hug you and rip your face off… We would all surrender our sanity to be lulled to Unknown Kadath if the seduction was always this sweet.”\n\nStarburst Ticket Prices: £15(£12)\nTICKETS HERE
